Tony Marks Racing Fifth Overall in ARCA Testing

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - December 19, 2011) - Young Jared Marks bolted his way to the top of the charts in the final morning test session for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.  

Just 17 years old and only a junior in high school with very little experience on the Superspeedways Marks has shown tremendous potential for this team.   The first day of testing allowed the team and driver to see exactly where they needed the car to be,  gathering information from the young driver for the second and third day has allowed them to readily storm their way to the front of the field with the #12 Dodge Charger.   Marks has proven his skill of being able to read the car and be able to transfer that information over to his crew so they are able to get the car to near perfection for their driver.   For most of the morning session Marks held the number one position on the leaderboard with final results of 4th place for the final morning session.  Team owner Tony Marks gathered his team led by crew Chief Ryan Chism together making the decision not to participate in the final afternoon drafting session, leaving the track very satisfied with what they had learned about their Dodge Charger.   Tony Marks states, “I am very pleased with the way the test went and all of the hard work the crew has been putting in to get the car ready to bring to the test.  Jared and the guys put our Dodge Charger at the top of the board which is where we needed to be.  Our goal was to run the way we did and be the number one team representing Dodge Motorsports, Maryeve was able to put herself in the second position for them and I am proud of both of them, and all of the hard work it took the team to get us here, and we are looking forward to our return for the race in February.”

 

Final results for the 3 day test left Jared Marks and the Tony Marks Racing Dodge Charger sitting overall in 5th place with a fast time of 47.83,  behind a mixed group of Venturini Motorsports Toyota’s and Chevy’s.  Marks teammate Maryeve Dufault had a final place of 20th with a 48.57.   Out of the 19 participating Dodge drivers the Tony Marks Racing teammates finished 1st and 2nd out of the group.   There were 79 drivers to take laps over the 3 day test at the historical track in preparation for the upcoming ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
