(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - December 17, 2011) - Jared Marks and Maryeve Dufault were very impressive in the second day of testing on the historic Daytona International Speedway.

Jared Marks drove his Dodge Charger to second place position on the leaderboard clocking in a hot lap of 48.53, while teammate Maryeve Dufault came in fifth with a time of 48.79, sending them to the top of the charts reigning over the other Dodge teams.   Jared was the first of the two Tony Marks Racing drivers to climb into the Dodge Charger for the first round of practice, relaying valuable information to his crew allowing them to make the necessary adjustments for him to be able to put his car at the top of the charts for the manufacturer.    After completing a 10 lap segment, Marks handed over the wheel to his teammate Dufault who quickly settled comfortably into her seat to put down her quick time in her first round out in the weekends session.  Team owner Tony Marks observing his drivers and crew from the top of the transporter was very pleased with the early morning session that lead the team to an even more satisfying second round of afternoon drafting practice. 

Power housed by Race Engines Plus and Joey Arrington, the Tony Marks Racing Dodge Charger fell into the front running position amongst a pack of four Venturini Motorsports teammates, holding his own in a mix of Toyotas and Chevrolets, the Dodge Charger wheeled by young gun Marks seemingly handled effortlessly anywhere the driver wanted to go in the draft completing 23 laps with the group.    Making the required package changes by the series, Marks returned the Dodge Charger to the track for another round of drafting solidly placing himself in the top 5, ending day two of testing for the young driver.  Jared comments, “Day 2 of testing for the team went very well, we had lots of good progress, I learned a lot about drafting and also about my competitors.  I am really excited about coming back to the race in February knowing our team is going to be very hard to beat!”   Dufault, finishing out her afternoon session with only 6 laps of drafting after time ran out, was unable to find the perfect dancing partner leaving her 17^th on the leaderboard.    Maryeve states, “Overall we had a good day, the morning went really well and unfortunately we could not find a fast group to run with in my final session, I know the car will be good in the draft when it is time to race.”   Team owner Tony Marks, happy with the second day of testing comments, “Our second day of testing went very well, I am very pleased with the way our Dodge Charger ran in the draft, overall Jared and Maryeve learned a lot and helped our crew chief Ryan Chism dial in on the car and get it right where we needed it to be.  I am very proud of our team and the hard work they continue to do to make us a growing success.   I know we will be very good in the race when we come back in February, it’s very exciting for our team to be able to represent Dodge Motorsports and be having Jared and Maryeve be the top 2 drivers out of the 12 running the Dodge Charger is very exciting for us.   I really appreciate the opportunity Dodge has given Tony Marks Racing and their continued support.”

The final day of testing continues for the team on Sunday with a special request from the ARCA Series  Officials for the team to stay and continue to participate in the drafting test for the spoiler additions in an effort  to make the cars safer and the speeds under control at the historic high banked superspeedway.
