(MOORESVILLE, N.C. - February 20, 2012) - Arriving at Daytona for the season opener for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, Jared Marks was feeling a bit disappointed knowing he was not able to actually race due to the age restriction set in place by the series.
The 17 (soon to be 18) year old was allowed to run one lap in practice earning the young Rookie 25 points to carry on to race No. 2 at Mobile International Speedway in March. Although he will not be directly behind the steering wheel of his No. 12 Dodge Charger that does not mean he is not running at full throttle during Daytona Speedweeks.
Kicking off his busy schedule Jared and his Tony Marks Racing Dodge Charger did a special promo shoot for SPEED that will be shown throughout the year. Marks comments, “I had a great time working with the film crew, it was a great experience and I am glad they gave me the opportunity. I learned a lot about what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes to put something like that together”.
Jared will also be making several appearances throughout the week at the UNOH (University of Northwestern Ohio) display that will be located at the hospitality suites. UNOH has joined Jared and Tony Marks Racing as an associate sponsor for the 2012 ARCA Racing Series season. Marks will also act as a junior ambassador throughout the year speaking to students and their families who may be interested in attending the university.
